Because every little bit helps, Paper Mate has launched a new biodegradable ball pen and mechanical pencil. The biodegradable parts of the new ball pen and mechanical pencil will naturally decompose within about a year in soil or home compost, producing less waste and more compost than traditional ball pens. This is distinctly different from other bioplastics on the market that typically require industrial compost (high heat and moisture) to biodegrade - something that many Canadians do not have easy access to.
